What is Dizziness?

Dizziness is a word that is used to mean different things. For example, some people say that they are 'dizzy' when they have vertigo, balance problems, are feeling faint and light-headed, are feeling weak and unsteady, or sometimes simply just when they feel confused or overly emotional.
There are various causes of dizziness. Some are very common, while others are quite rare. Some can be minor problems, however some are serious and even life threatening. As a general rule, if you feel dizzy on a regular basis, and you do not know why, it is best to see a doctor to find out the cause.

Beware of Hearing Loss in Children!

If your child makes you repeat when you call, if she/he is having performance drops in school, or watching TV with increased volume or from a very short distance, it will be good to consider the possibility of a hearing loss. Generally parents have a tendency to bring their children to ophthalmologist first when they start to watch TV too close. Hearing difficulties may be overlooked as a primary reason of watching TV closely.
